Fideicomiso de Riesgo Compartido (FIRCO)

Overview:

FIRCO is a trust fund for shared risk which operates under the Mexican Secretariat of Agriculture. Its key mission is to improve agricultural productivity through the introduction of new technologies and procedures. In Mexico, the use of renewable technologies is a viable option for many rural agricultural applications, particularly due to the distance of agricultural centres from the electric grid. One of the focuses of FIRCO's renewable energy programmes is the substitution of combustion technologies with renewable energy.
