Enova SF

Overview:

Enova SF was created by the Norwegian Parliament and became operational in 2002. It is a public entreprise with responsibilities for energy efficiency and new renewables and is answerable to the Ministry of Petroleum and Energy. It is an operating enterprise, but makes use of several local and regional partners. Enova aims to ensure cost-effective use of public funding for energy efficiency and new energy technology.

Limit energy use through increased annual use of of central heating based on new renewable energy sources, heat pumps and waste heat, increased wind power production, and increased environmentally friendly land-based use of natural gas.

Annual budget:

In 2006 available fundings totalled NOK 970 million; At year end, the balance in the account of the Energy Fund was NOK 1,813 million. A new Fund (Grunnfondet) was established by the Government, with NOK 10 billion in 2007, increasing to 20 billion in 2009.
