Bulgarian Energy Efficieny Fund was established through the Energy Efficiency Act adopted by the Bulgarian Parliament in February 2004. The main objective of BEEF is to facilitate energy efficiency investments and promote the development of an energy efficiency market in Bulgaria. The Fund is profit-oriented and will pursue the financial sustainability of its own operation.

BEEF identifies its customers first, defining three main categories within which programs are specifically provided. The categories are: - Municipalities; - Private individuals; -Corporate clients.
